Thanks to Marcin and Rookie for the links.
Some fast cars here, esp. the Audi- well done. Do you suffer from many breakages ie gearbox or axles or CVs. A heavy car running that quick must take a beating on its' drivetrain. I know it's German , but still it wasn't designed to take that much punishment.
My car wasn't on the English link, but some of my friends' cars were-both beetles
Thanks fellas
Chris

Hi Chris. Hope to see you in Modlin.

A little O/T: where do you teach? Highschool or university? I recall we had quite a few american teachers and a few from England in this program here in Wrocław on exchange or something. I don't quite recall the rules, but they rotated every two years and stayed in various different countries. Are you in that or just freelancing?

Hi Mori
I teach in a private school in Warsaw and I plan to stay here for at least one more year. I would like to go back to England during the summer and return with my Porsche 914. We had plans to turbo it as a friend of mine has a few turbos sitting in his garage which he had tried on his car (a 350hp fuel-injected tubo Beetle), but I don't think I'll have time so it will come to Poland as a 16 second car which I'd like to start racing.

Wow! This VW was great! 11 seconds run ( or even runs) will be this year in Poland. Maybe GS is going to prepare his A3 that it'll be able to make a 11 run.

Welcome Chris

Sorry, no
I teach in Natolin, next to the metro station.
I hear one of you is planning 11sec runs. Well done. I hope everything goes well. What 60ft times are you running at the moment as this is where you can make up the most time. Usually, if you can take off 1 tenth of a second in the first 60ft, you will take off at least 2 tenths by the finish. I'm sure you know this. Do you use traction compounds or retreaded slicks ( good idea for a car which has to use street-looking tyres).

That's a stuff you spray on/rub into a tyre to make it stick better. Never heard about "łańcuchy w spreju"?

common thing in kart-races.
different fluids/sprays are used on tires to various effects... - mostly to soften the compound...

Bigi,łańcuchy w sprayu kupisz w pierwszym lepszym super/hiper markecie w dziale samochodowym.
Ale lepiej się pospiesz zanim je wycofają ze sprzedaży po sezonie zimowym.

Traction compounds are great in many ways. It helps the tyre to grip by softening it and it also renews old tyres that you thought were past their best. One downside - more traction= more breakages to gearboxes. Be warned.
