Citroen build 20 of these Evolution BX 4TC's in the Citroen Competition workshop at Trappes. Technical father Guy Verrier developed this car using only Citroen parts, elements and mechanics. The car however would only compete in 15 rally's, of which only 3 where FISA world championship rally's (Monte Carlo, Portugal and the Acropolis Rally), it abandoned in 13 rally's. Terrible accidents and cars that were getting uncontrolable on a rally track forced the FISA to abort the Group B rally's by the start of the 1987 season.
